A cluster of elegant calla lilies shown on art paper finished with a double mat.
Students will use a combination of drybrushing and floating techniques to create the depth of values necessary to achieve the look of oils with the convenience of acrylics. Stenciling techniques provide creative embellishment for visual interest and dynamic design. Approximate size 8" x 10".
Supply Information:
The stencil, mat and metallic gel are included. In addition to regular painting supplies, students should bring or purchase additional supplies as follows. RB Classique™ 1/2", 3/8", 1/8" angles 1100 series, #3/0 Round 1000 series, 0 Script liner 1050 series; RB Au Sec™ 3/8", 1/4", 1/8" brushes 200 series. Low-tack tape.

The Art of Leafing
Friday 6 - 10 PM
October 8, 2010
Lecture and practical demonstration will be used to teach various gilding techniques as well as how to select leafing that harmonizes with your project. Students will explore the relationship between gilding and color and become familiar with materials and tools through both theory and completion of a multi-section sampler.
Supply Information:
Leafing supplies are provided. In addition to regular painting supplies, students should bring a stiff fan brush, (2) 1/2" stencil brushes**, a coarse sea sponge, craft knife, small container for scraps, low tack tape and swiffer or lint-free soft cloth. **The type of stencil brush does matter. Tightly packed or cleanly cut stencil brushes are not suitable. The requested brushes are available for purchase online at rebeccabaer.com.
